Catch Me on TV!

Posted on: Wednesday, 15 February 2012.

About a week ago I was asked to help in the re-launch of a fancy dress shop called Props N Frocks in Battlesbridge, Essex. The BBC had been filming Props N frocks as part of a new BBC2 program to be shown in the new year about helping family businesses back on their feet. They had been filming the shop and the family who runs Props N Frocks for about 6 weeks previously and all that was left to film was the re-launch.

The shop itself is not situated in a busy town center and is actually located behind a house down a private road in Battlesbridge, so they needed somewhere to film the re-launch where there were going to be a number of people generally mingling about. They had decided on Basildon town center to do the final bits of filming and had asked me along with other similar local businesses to help with the re-launch. Not only for me playing a few tunes, there were also a few street performers and dance acts there for the people of Basildon to enjoy.

As far as I'm aware, the BBC have not confirmed the name of the program yet and I only know that it will be shown early next year on BBC2. The show will be hosted by Alex Polizzi from the Hotel Inspector, who over the last month or so has been giving Props N Frocks some help and advice about the business.

If you ever need a fancy dress costume in the future, then I can highly recommend Props N Frocks in Battlesbridge. I'm not just saying this because they had asked me to do the re-launch, I actually went to the shop to talk to Rhys a few days beforehand and was total surprised at the amount of costumes they actually have. The shop itself was one of those shops you could spend an hour or so in just looking around. They seemed to have every type of costume you could possible wish for. I'm not one for dressing up but next time I do get asked to I know where I will be going.

Also, if you ever need a face painter for a kids party then Follies face and body art was amazing good. A friend of mine came over with his little boy and had his face painted as a skeleton as it was Halloween and it looked amazing.

If you would like to book me for a similar event then please give me a ring or alternatively you can submit an inquiry form located at the top of this page.
