Chart Update 08/04/2012

Posted on: Sunday, 08 April 2012.

26 year old Canadian singer/songwriter, Carly Rae Jepsen has taken the UK charts by storm this week. With a brand new entry, Carly has landed at the top of the charts with "Call Me Maybe".

After coming third in the Canadian Idol in 2007, Carly released her debut album "Tug of War" in 2008 but failed to brake into the world wide music scene. It wasn't until February 14th this year, that Carly released her second studio album "Curiosity".

The first single released from the album was "Call Me Baby" which has kind of taken Europe by storm and has topped the charts in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Austria and New Zealand.

As this is very much a track for the ladies, I wasn't looking particularly forward to watching the video but there was definitely a twist at the end which caught me by surprise.

New Top 40 Entry's:

  • Carly Rae Jepsen - "Call Me Maybe" (1st)
  • Alex Day - "Lady Godiva" (15th)
  • BeyoncĂ© - "End Of Time" (39th)

Don't forget about the unsuspected ending!
