This Saturday, I was at the Ivy Hill Hotel, Margaretting, in the Ivy Suite for Mark and Alice's Wedding reception. I was asked to be set-up by 1 o'clock as they were due back from the church at around 2pm so I arrived at the venue at around 11.30am to set-up and was ready to rock and roll by 1. I wasn't due to start till 7:30pm that night so I went home for a few hours to sort myself out.

I hadn't been in this particular suite at the Ivy Hill before. It was smaller than I was expecting but a nice sized room for parties of around 40 to 50 people.

I returned to the venue just after 7pm to find that they had already finished their Wedding breakfast and the room was ready for the evening. They had even moved the tables that were directly in front of me and laid a dance floor down.

By this point most of the guests were in the bar so I started with some background music. Just before 8, I announced the cutting of the cake which was shortly followed by Mark and Alice's first dance.

Mark and Alice wanted an indie feel to their Wedding disco and sent me a playlist of around 30 to 40 tracks which I made my way through throughout the night while also playing a few of my own indie based tracks on top.

Towards the end of the night, I ended up playing a few dance classics like Baby D and N-Trance which went down a storm and had most of the guests on the dance floor.
